Beloved & Entrusted Christian Trauma Training – Birmingham Newman University

This training day is part of Claire’s research project for her MA dissertation; it is a narritve inquiry based action research exploring the personal theologies of survivors of childhood trauma. As such all attendees are participants in the research project. Participants must fulfil certain criteria based on the particular ethical considerations of the research project which ensure the well being of all participants. Other than that the content and process of the day will be no different to the usual Beloved and Entrusted Christian Trauma Training.

If you are interested in participating in this event please complete the expression of interest form on clairebankole.org/dissertation  following which we will be in touch to set you up for the research and workshop.

You’ll leave the day with clear next steps towards building your unique healing way. A way for healing for your self and those around you, tailored to your circumstances and based on a trauma-healing theology and informed by the nature of trauma and those things that support recovery. Whether you are a survivor of trauma or you want to be helpful for those who are, this training is for you.

We’ll cover:

  • What trauma is and how it makes an impact.
  • What helps in the healing and recovery of trauma.
  • How the biblical narrative and gospel story speak with compassion and healing into trauma.
  • Why some aspects of Christian practice and teaching can trigger trauma and hinder recovery.
  • How you can start building a healing way as you live your life with Jesus.

The day is broken down into two sessions, as follows:

Morning session – 10:00 – 13:00

How the biblical narrative and gospel story speak with compassion and healing into trauma. What trauma is and how it makes an impact. What helps in the healing and recovery of trauma.

Afternoon session – 14:15 –  17:00

Why some aspects of church practice and teaching can trigger trauma and hinder recovery. How you can start building a healing way as you live your life with Jesus.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
