What about Faith

Jesus

Where does God and Faith and Jesus fit into all this?

Some of you reading my posts on trauma will be concerned that I don’t mention prayer, faith or Jesus in every post, you might be concerned that some of what I am sharing sounds a lot like mindfulness and that I quote and respect experts who may not profess to be Christian. I understand, and so I thought it fair to articulate where I am coming from in case that is helpful.

I believe that the Triune God, who is Love, has lovingly created us in his image as whole, earthly, physical beings. Along with all of creation he has designed us to flourish.

I belive that God in Jesus has passed through death, breaking the power of all that seeks the destruction and obliteration of life, whilst also redeeming humanity and creation.

Two aspects of God’s design I find remarkable are the integrated, interconnectedness of every aspect of what it means to be human and secondly the way healing works throughout the whole system. I also believe that all real knowledge comes from the Lord and all healing comes from him too; God is the source of all life. For me discovering how breath or movement can release healing in our human systems is as God inspired as experiencing the spontaneous healing of a disease God sometimes brings – precisely because it is God’s idea and design.

The theology of God’s kingdom and new creation gives us the radical view of a missional God at work throughout ALL his creation and humanity, redeeming and making ALL things new.

When we recognise the Lord at work, for most of us the response is worship and a choice to align with his ways. Even if we don’t recognise him however, the Lord carries out his mission anyway; and if we open our eyes we will find him at work in places and through people we perhaps never expected. This at least has been my experience, particularly in later years. I love Jesus and seek to follow him; however I have found he has a propensity to do precisely what he see’s fit even when it makes me squeemish at first!

I hope this helps, but let’s keep talking!

It’s Going to be Tremendous!
